Governance remains the foundation of board practices and procedures. It is becoming increasingly complex and important, especially for public companies in regulated industries. Private and family companies can benefit from adapting appropriate governance to enhance performance.
Pederson has served on Viad’s Nominating & Governance Committee since 2011. As one of the few directors to serve on public, private, family and investor backed boards, she has developed a unique understanding of the differences amongst them and the best practices that can be migrated. Pederson has written and spoken on how to incorporate best practices from one type of board to another, e.g. from public to private; groups addressed include NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors), WCD (Women Corporate Directors) and Boards & Directors. She welcomes the opportunity to share this expertise.
